Richard Herweynen is a Technical Director with ENTURA, the consulting arm of Hydro Tasmania, Australia. He has 35 years’ experience in dam and hydropower, covering investigation, design, construction and operation. Richard has led the design of both new dams and major upgrades in Australia and overseas. He is currently the chair of the Independent Review Panel for the Baleh HEP in Malaysia. He has published over 50 technical papers on dams, was part of ANCOLD working group for the Concrete Gravity Dam Guidelines and part of ICOLD Technical Committee on Engineering Activities in the Planning Process for Water Resource Projects.
