Dr. Lelio Mejia is a civil and geotechnical engineer with over 40 years of professional experience. He is a Senior Principal with Geosyntec Consultants in Oakland, California and is the Vice Chair of the ICOLD Technical Committee B and past Chair of the Earthquakes Committee of the United States Society of Dams. He is a member of the United States National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Mejia has directed seismic safety evaluations, analysis and design studies, and construction supervision projects for multiple dams worldwide. He served as the project director and lead engineer for the seismic re-evaluation of Chabot Dam.
