Daniel Gaftoi is a lecturer at the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, Faculty of Hydrotechnics, with over 10 years of experience in the field. His main area of expertise is the numerical modeling of hydrotechnical and civil structures. He is also involved in projects related to dams, hydropower plants, and civil structures.

At the university, Daniel teaches courses such as Finite Element Method and Geographic Information Systems, and leads seminar sessions for dam design.

In today’s presentation, he will showcase the ongoing monitoring efforts at the Paltinu Dam, located near Romania’s most active seismic zone.
