Dr. Chihaya Onda is Deputy Director of Chubu Regional Headquarters, Electric Power Development Co., Ltd (J-Power).

He is also a Program-Specific Assistant Professor at the Water Resources Research Center, Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University, Japan.

He has over 20 years of experience at J-Power, working on key aspects of hydropower dams, including planning, design, construction, and maintenance.

He has extensive knowledge of dams and earned a Doctor of Engineering degree from Kyoto University.

He specializes in reservoir hydraulics and sediment transport.
